EverettYoung offers Strategic and Execution consulting engagements to help organizations achieve their growth and cyber defense goals.
Strategic engagements are fixed-price and defined-deliverable engagements designed to develop strategic direction for your cyber operations or product team. They help to establish and structure the hypothesis that drives your business decision making and create the foundations required to drive your organization forward.
Strategy is meaningless without execution, and our Execution engagements are designed to implement strategic plans effectively. Execution engagements are typically longer duration engagements that involve our consultants working with your team to implement your chosen strategy. They are scoped for each engagement in a Statement of Work, and are billed at T&M rates.

Cybersecurity User Research
Engagement Summary:
This engagement applies human-centered design methodologies to identify and solve operational friction points within your cybersecurity organization. Through structured user interviews with distinct personas (SOC analysts, detection engineers, cloud architects), we document actual workflows, pain points, and implemented workarounds that may be impeding your team's effectiveness.
Our objective in User Research is to document, contextualize, and understand frustrations of your key team members in terms of the organizational goals they are trying to pursue. For example, understanding the "why" behind a detection engineer's excessive time spent on documenting response SOPs could be the key to unblocking a systematic delay in the release lifecycle of new detections to novel threats. Understanding these impacts as they relate to team and organizational goals allows us to diagnose and propose scalable solutions using technology, process, or a combination of both.
Our workshopping approach distinguishes our methodology. Rather than delivering prescriptive recommendations out of context with your business reality, we workshop multiple viable pathways with explicit tradeoffs, validation methods, and resource estimates, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and ownership of the chosen direction. The final action plan provides concrete implementation guidance including timelines, budgets, and specific process, organizational, and technology change recommendations.
Includes:
-
In-depth user interview sessions across team job roles and personas to gain deep understanding of capabilities and gaps of the team or organization
-
Initial findings report with interactive sessions to discuss and refine initial findings with key stakeholders.
-
Approach Options workshop takes the refined initial findings from user reviews and stakeholder workshops, and presents potential courses of action, tradeoffs, and strategic decisions.
-

Technology Evaluation and Acquisition
Engagement Summary:
This engagement provides structured support for evaluating and procuring cybersecurity technologies following the identification of capability gaps. We manage the complex evaluation process from requirements definition through proof-of-concept, testing, and vendor selection, reducing both procurement risk and the time burden on your security team. The engagement begins with a required capability analysis (which may leverage findings from a prior user research engagement) and develops a data-driven business case quantifying the problem scope and appropriate budget allocation.
Throughout the process, we provide subject-matter expertise to your legal and procurement teams to support enterprise procurement and contracting processes. This systematic approach ensures technology decisions are grounded in documented user requirements and demonstrable value, rather than vendor promises or feature comparisons alone.
Includes:
-
Required capability analysis workshops with stakeholders, including technical and business stakeholders (prior User Research engagement is recommended, but not required)
-
Data-driven business case development with budget recommendations based on required capabilities and intended business and risk outcomes

Strategic Product Analysis
Engagement Summary:
This engagement delivers actionable strategic guidance for cybersecurity product teams seeking to optimize their product-market fit and go-to-market approach. Unlike traditional strategy consulting that produces high-level generalizations, we focus on identifying specific leverage points and explicit tradeoffs that drive maximum market impact that are unique to your product or service. The engagement is particularly valuable for technical founders who need to transition from product development to market activation, preventing the common pitfall of allowing early sales hires to determine market direction based on their personal networks and experience.
These findings are refined through interactive strategy workshops focused on validating assumptions and aligning stakeholders on available paths forward. The final deliverable presents viable strategic options with clear tradeoffs and an execution summary prioritizing concrete actions, providing either a standalone roadmap or the foundation for a subsequent execution engagement.
Includes:
-
Scoping workshop
-
Comprehensive strategic analysis including:
-
Granular user/buyer profiles and jobs-to-be-done for your product or service
-
